So I have decided or maybe its just working out this way to do BULK posts. Now that I will be starting a new jobby job on Monday my posts are going to be few. Here are some pics from Tri's train and tractor birthday he had at Nana and Papaw's house. Jamie's cousin Gibson build this awesome train that you pull behind a lawn mower and the kids loved it--Well some of them anyway!! We had the train going, tractors roaring, kids swinging ont he playground, and some future contractors digging at the dirt pile. The day was beautiful and no major meltdowns occured!!!

South MS Rodeo 2011

A couple of weeks ago, the babies and I took a much needed trip down South. The rodeo was in town and I thought it would be fun to take Tri!!! Papa and Will had a night of Westerns while Nini, Tri, and I headed to Hattiesburg to see the Cowboys. We had great floor box seats thanks to B95. I was not sure how Tri was going to react to all the people and just the situation all around. Needless to say, Tri loved the rodeo. We were so close the action that we could have touched the animals if we wanted. Barrell racing, cow roping, horse-riding, nachos, boiled peanuts, light sabors, and 2 pop guns filled our night!!!

Last Saturday reminded me that Spring is FINALLY on its way!!! Well so I thought because I am looking out the window at snow and ice accumilating on my driveway. But back to Saturday--The sun was out, the kids and Jamie played on the playground, and I got some tennis time with Meredith!!! Jamie put up Will's swing on the playground at his dad's house and boy did Will LOVE IT!!!!! I am so ready for Spring so we can get some more great times outside!!!!

My nephew's Nick Smith and Landon Williams had birthday's this past weekend. Nick turned 8 and Landon was the Big 1!!! We started our Saturday with a few rides on the Carousel at E.E. Bass. The kids has a blast riding the horses around and around!!! That night, the family went to the Smith house for hot dog roasting, ice cream and cake!!!!

This year, we went to Laurel for Christmas. There is nothing like being home with your family during this special season. The boys had a blast opening all that Santa brought them from the North Pole. Jamie and I enjoyed the low-key, peace and quiet!!!

Hello New Orleans!!!

A few weeks ago, Jamie and I took an anniversary trip to New Orleans. The last few times we have been to new Orleans I was with child so since we were baby-free, we decided to make this trip the best!!! Will and Tri stayed the weekend at Nini and Papa's house and had a blast. We drove to my parents house on Friday, spent the night, and headed out Saturday morning!! Jamie and I made it to New Orleans in time for lunch. Ah Cafe Masperos--so YUMMY!!!! After lunch we made our way to the French Market to look at all the stuff they had to offer. I was desperately on the hunt for a Saints t-shirt that I could wear to the game but none were catching my eye. After some walking and sipping on the local drinks, we checked into the W Hotel. I must say IT IS FABULOUS!!! We had a corner suite that over looked the river and Harrah's Hotel. Some great football was on that day, so thanks to my good friend Carol, she directed us to the Cajun Cabin to watch LSU/UM--and yes I cheered for UM--that is the only time it will happen too. Sadly, UM lost but my Bulldogs were up next. Sadly again my Bulldogs lost in OT but played an awesome game. After some great food, drinks, and football, Jamie and I walked around Bourbon. On Sunday, more football was in store for us--Saints vs Seahawks. jamie goy us some great tickets--13th row End Zone. The energy in the Dome is AMAZING. Outside the game was tailgating, the cheerleaders were on scafolds dancing, and alot of WHO DAT going on. Long story short, The Saints WON!!!! Sadly, Monday came too quick and it was time to go home. We had a great 4 year anniversary trip and look forward to many more!!!!!

As I was taking a minute to myself, I come back into the kitchen to find Tri acting very mischievous. I asked Tri what he had been doing and he happily said, "Mommy, I drew you a picture". Just yesterday, my MIL Kathy and I were talking about how I needed to spruce up my house with some new trim and wall paint. I told her that I would get to it eventually but I guess MY new painting project will come sooner than later!!!

Miami

A few weeks ago Jamie and I to the boys to Miami for my newphew's baptism. We flew out of Memphis to Ft. Lauderdale. I was a nervous wreck. Tri was not too sure about the plane and flying all together. Will on the other hand was just as calm as the breeze once we got into the air. I still say that a plane should have designated areas of families with small children so you do not disturb the other passengers because nobody likes a crying baby and I had one!!! Once we landed we headed to our condo on Biscane bay. It was beautiful!!! My parents stayed with us and we had a large time!!! Jamie and I took the boys to the beach on Friday. Tri and Jamie enjoyed building sandcastles and walks on the beach. Will layed under the tent and got some well deserved sleep. Saturday we all loaded up and went to Jungle Island. tri was not too sure about it at first but it grew on him after he found the playground and the monkeys. That night my brother, SIL, her brother, his girlfriend, Jamie, and I went down to South Beach for some dinner and to watch the Florida/MSU game. To our surprise and great enjoyement, MSU Bulldogs BEAT FLORIDA!!!! Sunday was the baptism and bruch then Jamie and I headed to the beach for a little US time!!! Monday came quickly but it was time to head back home. It was a great trip and we now know how our kids will act on a plane for the next trip!!!

It has been a busy couple of weeks since I last post but I will try to catch up. Fall has finally arrived and the boys couldnt be happier!!! Tri is outside ALL DAY LONG which is great for me!! He rides his tractor, make HUGE water holes, and just plays like a boy should. Will is growing like a weed. Such a chunk!! His is 5 months old and I can't believe it. He weighs 16lbs and is 25 inches long!!! Will is gonna be a big boy. Needless to say the boys keep me running!!! We went to the MSU vs Kentucky game this past weekend for Halloween. Tri was a fireman and Will was the Hulk (I only got one pic b/c Will had already grown out of his costume). The tailgate was a mad house--kids everywhere!!! It was so great to be back in Starkville. The campus looks beautiful and our Bulldogs are WINNING!!! Here are some pics from the game and I will post Halloween pics when I can get my computer to work with me on getting them off my camera!!!

I have really enjoyed my new hobby of running. I have ran in a totally of three 5k (3.1 miles) races and I must say they are a great way to burn off some unwanted lbs, clear your head, and just have some time to MYSELF. No children crying, screaming, yelling MOMMA MOMMA MOMMA--just me, the pavement, and the open air. i know that sounds aweful but Mommy's need quiet time too!! I love it!!! I did not realize that I have not posted since Will's 2 week check up back in June. So much has been going on this summer. Will is growing like a weed, Tri has become the best big brother ever, and we have LIVED, yes, lived at the pool. Tri has taken to the pool like a fish. I am still at home with my babies and totally loving every minute of it. It is amazing watching my boys grow right in front of me. I missed alot of that with Tri since I was working and now making up for it with Will. Tri goes to school 2 days a week and is learning so much!!! He is speaking very well and we are in the process of totally being potty trained!!! It is funny because every time Tri needs to potty, he feels that he has to strip down to his bare ninnys to potty. He also likes to read while taking care of business. Jamie and I were sitting on the couch and Tri told us he had to tee-tee. So on his way to the bathroom, I see him pick up my People magazine and go into the bathroom. I looked from the couch, and he is reading about Sandra Bullocks divorce while on the pot. Oh so very funny that he picked this up from Yall Know Who. Will, who will be 3 months on August 3rd, has really blossomed after his little Colic stint. We are on soy formula and Milk of Magnesia in the am (thanks Auntie Shan!!) His personality is really coming out. Will is mellow, calm, and really doesnt fuss unless for the obvious reasons. We visited my parents last weekend and my brother Ryan with his son Gavin flew in from Miami. Gavin is so precious and we re so lucky to have him in our lives. Ryan and I also ran a 5k in Oak Grove (outside of Hattiesburg). It was a breeze for Ryan but not so much for me. I did finish and I must say enjoyed myself. I am running in another 5k this weekend at the BB King museum in Indianola. Yes I may have lost my mind but oh well. Now that summer is coming to an end and foot ball is on its way, we are very excited for some beautiful fall weather!!! Here are some pics from the summer--ENJOY!!

Two Week Check-Up

Will went for his two week check up this morning and he is growing like a weed. It is hard to believe that he is already two weeks old. I am so blessed to have two beautiful healthy boys and a fabulous husband. Will sleeps ALL day long and is up every three hours or so at night. It took some getting used to when we first came home but now it is just a part of the day. Tri has really taken on the "Big Brother" role--he tells me that Will does not want to swing, he wants to watch UmiZoomi with him on the couch. Tri is very curious of what Will does; noises he makes, where he is, why he cries. It is really cute. I was really worried about how Tri would react to Will but all that worry was for nothing. Tri is a great help to me!!! Here are Will's stats:

William Cooper Avis

William Cooper Avis arrived in Greenville, MS on June 3, 2010 at 11:43pm. Will is 6lbs 7oz and 18 inches long. I had a wonderful delivery; quick and to the point. Funny story behind it. I was laying out at the pool with Tri, my sister-in-law JJ, and her two babes. I had been having light contractions that morning but didnt think anything about it because I could just breathe through them and move on about my business. Well, JJ started to time them and they were 10 minutes apart. She asked if I wanted to call anybody and I said "No". My doctor had always said not to do anything until 7 or less minutes apart and like I said they weren't bad. Well, I went home, showered, and decided to call a friend of mine who is a nurse. She said she would stop by the house on her way home and check on me. So I text Jamie and told him the situation. Well, when my friend checked, she said I had about an hour to get to the hospital. OMG--really?? Thank goodness my bags were packed and we were ready. We arrived to the hospital at 8:30, checked-in, and 3 hours later, my precious Will was born. He is healthy and we are so blessed for him to join our family. Tri is not too sure about what is going on just yet but we are going home tomorrow and I know Tri will be the best big brother ever!!!!

We had a very exciting day today!!! Tri started off the morning with "Mommy, I need potty" which he says frequently but sadly we dont follow thru. Oh but today was the exception!!! Tri stood on his potty stool and into the BIG POTTY we go!!! He did it all by himself and we were so proud. THEN--we were swimming at Nana and Papaw's house and he finally put on his swimmy floats and began to swim!!! Jamie and I have been trying to get him to wear the floaties and he refused but today was a day of BIG FIRSTS!!! We rode the golf cart down to Cousin Gibson and Elizabeth's for Cousin Synar's first birthday party. Tri swam, played on the slip-n-slid, and just had a ball. We are so excited and proud of our Tri!!! Hopefully tomorrow I will be able to get some pics of him swimming by himself to post

Last weekend, we headed North to Southaven to visit the Shurden's. Thru tornados and pouring down rain we finally made it in one piece!!! When we got there, I was STARVING--as usual. We went to Huey's for lunch and I think Michaela will never say how great the kids are acting because just as she said that, all drama broke loose. French fries flying, Tri climbing out of his high chair running rampant, Miller throwing the entire table on the floor. Needless to say, it was another experience that leads me to believe that going out to eat is no longer an option with little ones. After lunch, Jamie headed to Germantown to get his new bike assembled while Michaela, the babes, and I ran a few errands. Since we were under a flood, tornado, Mother Nature's rath warnings, the rain put a damper on any outside activities for the kiddos. Later that night, we were serious about some Weather Channel. Watching all the craziness going on around us. The next morning, we got up early and headed out to try and beat some of the weather that was headed our way AGAIN. BUT--not without taking our tradition pic of the babies and their daday's. We always have a great time visiting and hope to see the Shurden's again soon!!!

Tri and I went to Laurel last week for a few days. We had a great time--we relaxed, played in the pool, and ate LOTS of popcicles. Tri alsways enjoys playing with Nini and Papa!!!

TRI'S 2!!! Gracious how time flys. On Saturday we had a family birthday party at Nana and Papaw's house (aka Jim and Kathy). Eventhough Tri was not real thrilled at the beginning, he slowly warmed up to the idea that all these people were there for him. My dad said Tri reminded him of my brother Ryan on his 2nd birthday--Ryan REFUSED to come downstairs to his party so my parents had to open his gifts and thank everybody for coming and apologize for Ryan not attending. Pretty funny!!Since Tri LOVES anything tractor or construction-like, we did a tractor theme. Ms Teresa from Laurel, who made all of my cakes when I was little, did a fabulous job on Tri's tractor cake. It was delicious!!! For the entertainment, we rented a front loader bouncy machine from Taylor Rental--absolutely a hit. The kids jumped, rode the golf cart, 4-wheeler, EVERYTHING!! It was a beautiful day to be outsidesiting and watching the kids play. They even got in the pool!! It was 80 degrees and seemingly a good idea. The pool was COLD but the kids did not care. Tri stayed safely on the two top stairs but Nick and Carson dove right in. After BBQ, cake, ice cream, and a nap on the golf cart, it was time to call it a day.

On Tuesday, we had a small party at daycare with Tri's school friends. We sang "Happy Day" and had some cupcakes and juice. I am sure that Ms Carolyn just loved me for bringing all the sugar in right at nap time!!! All in all I think he had a great birthday and look forward to many more!!!

Last weekend was cousin Morgan's 3rd birthday!! We ate lunch at Rusty's Riverfront Grill and it was delicious!!! I did feel sorry for the other patrons in the building with 6 children running all around like chickens with their heads cut off. With all the running around, you would think that the park would be out of the question. YEAH RIGHT!!! Vicksburg has an awesome park for kids down by the river. It is divided in age groups so the little ones don't get run over by the big kids. Sliding, swinging, climbing dirt walls, you name it, they did it. The park had a water part to it which I am sure is a blast during the summer. We may have to come back and try it out. Mandy bought the kids bubbles to play with and it was so fun. We got some great pics and had a great day!!!

With the due date just a few months away, I wanted to get Tri into his "Big Boy" room. I am not creative at all so I enlisted Courtney Ayers to come in and design the room. Afraid at first is probably an understatement--she came to me with a John Deere green room with a striped wall idea. Since she is my bestie, I went for it. So with some extra man power from my mom, we painted and striped in two days--but not without a little excitement. As Courtney is pulling the tape off of the stripes, some colorful words come from her mouth. The paint was also coming off the wall as she pulled the tape. Being the professional she is, she calmly said this is not a big deal and will fix it. Well she was totally right and it looks SOOOO good. I could not be happier and Tri loves his new room from Coco!!!

Three Part Post-#1

It has been wild around here the past few weeks. I will start with me getting a JOB!!! It is part time with another pharmaceutical company. I have a great territory and am SO excited about getting back in the field. Don't get me wrong, I have loved the time home with Tri but Momma is ready for some adult interaction!! My home training starts on March 29th-April 1st and first day in the field is April 5th. I will work 3 days a week and make my own schedule--really excited about that. The Friday I accepted the job, we took a trip to Little rock for Tri's bestest friend Braden Davis' 2nd birthday party. We had a great time visiting with Terry and Candace and the birthday party was a blast!!!! The kids were running around like crazy outside and trying to get a picture of Tri and Braden together was such a task. After cupcakes with candy bugs and presents, we headed back to the Delta.

This has been a relaxing week. With all this beautiful weather we have been having, Tri has had a field day outside. Swinging with Daddy, riding the tractor with Papaw, and taking walks with Mommy in his wagon have filled up the week. I hope this weather continues. Tri's swing set came in yesterday so hopefully we can get it put together for him so he can start to enjoy his early birthday present from the Grandparents. One month from tomorrow, my little boy will be 2 years old. I just can't believe it. Aunt Amy is home from Starkville for Spring Break--oh how I miss those!! We are glad to see her since she doesn't come home very often. All in all, it has been pretty quiet around here. Have a great weekend!!!

Big Weekend!!!

To start off a fabulous weekend, Jamie turned 32 this past Friday. Tri and I met Jamie in Indianola for lunch at Nolas. Needless to say, it was a circus as usual. After dinner, presents and cake with Granny Becky (who's birthday was Sunday), we packed up for our trip to Memphis on Saturday. Before we left, we made a stop at the Kaiwanis Pancake Breakfast for a little road fuel. The pancakes were yummy for my tummy!!! Oh, did I mention the pancakes were HUGE!!! Now off to Olive Branch to see Tri's favorite little lady, Ms. Miller Brooke Shurden. Michaela and I took the babes shopping in Southavenwhile the guys went to Bass Pro--it was a beautiful day and we were on a mad hunt for Ms Miller some shoes. After a long search, Miller got her first pair of New Balance tennis shoes. So cute!!! Thanks to Miller's daycare teacher, Mrs. Kelly, we were able to have a wonderful and RELAXING dinner at Jamie's favorite Italian restaurant, Pete and Sam's. Before we knew it, it was Sunday and time to come home. We always hate to leave the Shurden's--we have such a great time visiting!!!

25 Week Check-Up

So I went for my 25 week check up this morning and we are on track. Well, Baby Will is anyway. When Dr. Beckham was trying to find Will's heartbeat, he was playing possum. Sound asleep, I believe, but after some pushing and moving around, Will woke up full throttle. Kicking and moving about with a strong heartbeat. Momma on the other hand is gonna really have to start hitting the walking trail HARD!!! No more cookies for me. I must say that I am doing much better this go around than I did with Tri. I love what my SIL Mandy told me; Its just water weight!!! I will take that explanation all day!!! I don't have to go back for 4 weeks so I have some major work to do to redeem myself!!! Wish me luck

I have been terrible at this blogging business but I am going to try and catch up. Where to begin?? To get everyone up to speed, I am now a stay at home mom and we are expecting our second baby boy William Cooper in June. We are super excited and Tri is already explaining to Will all the joys of life. Every morning Tri tells Will "Hello" and gives him a kiss. He is going to be a great big brother. Tri is really growing now. He loves tractors, trucks, firetrucks, anything TRUCK!!! He has every truck known to man but who wants the fake stuff when you have a playground of REAL trucks at Daddy's shop. I am really enjoying being at home with Tri and being able to watch him grow. Jamie is enjoying coming home to a clean house and cooked meals everyday. Cooking has always been fun for me and now I get to really dive in and try some new recipes. For all who do not know, I was layed off from my pharmaceutical company back in December. At first, I was like a lost puppy dog. Now, I would not change it for the world. I feel this break came at a great time; I can enjoy Tri and my pregnancy with little stress. I hope to go back to the pharmaceutical world after the Baby Will is born but we will see!! All in all it has been very quiet around the Avis home.

Tri's First Beach Trip

WOW--I can't believe how the summer has just flown by. We have been really busy at the Avis compound and I finally have found a few minutes to posts some pics from this summer. Tri made his first trip of many to North Carolina. He was fabulous on the plane and I was a WRECK!! When we landed, Cousin Kristyn was at the airport to take us to the beach house on Emerald Isle. Grandy and Grandpa Sloan, Uncle Billy,Aunt Laura and Deb, cousins Kristyn, Adam, and little miss Lauren were all there to greet us when we got to the beach house. I was very proud of how well Tri played with Lauren and how much he LOVED the beach. The Cooper is finally coming out in him. As usual, the week flew by but we had the best time visiting!!! Can wait til next year!!

4th of July Weekend

We had a great 4th of July weekend and are very sad that if went by so quickly. Jamie and I were off Friday so he did a few things around town and I had Tri all to myself. Everybody has been saying that Tri needs a hair cut. So Friday morning, off we went to see Mrs Sarah. She tried to talk me out of if and we agreed on just a little trim. I was so worried about loosing his curls that I almost chickened out. When it came Tri's turn, he sat still for about 5 minutes and that was all she wrote. After our haircut, we grabbed some lunch with Mana, Coco, and ReRe at San Juan. Then off to the pool we went for Papaw's birthday. We had a great time hanging out with the family and it was great to see Aunt Mandy, Uncle Dewayne, and cousins Morgan and Maycie. On Saturday we got invited to hang out on Lake Washington with the McAfee's and Perilisi's. We dropped Tri off with Granny B and ate some great lunch before heading out to the lake. Jamie and I had a great time hanging with Matt and Brittany and sharing a few funny stories about the lake surrounding. After a few firecrackers thanks to Uncle Jamie, we all headed home. Today has been a day of pure laziness. It started raining this morning so we stayed in bed and watched the tennis match of all matches. Men's finals of Wimbledon--Roger Federer vs Andy Roddick. 5 sets and an ending score of 16-14 Federer places himself in tennis history. I was really cheering for both. Roger, to get the pressure off and Andy, this would have been his first Wimbledon win. In the end, the stronger player won. Andy played awesome and he will for sure be back next year and possibly take the title. After a much needed lazy day, I am heading to bed. Gotta work tomorrow--YUK!!

Last weekend, all of our friends came into town for Burt and Rebekah's wedding. While the bride got beautiful and the groom and groomsmen were on the lake, Candace, Jennifer, Michaela, and I along with our children decided to relax beside the pool at Nana and Papwa's house. The babies loved it. It was the first time Ms Miller had ever been in the pool and she took to it like a little fish. It was great hanging out together at the pool with Braden, Grace, Tri, and Miller. We hope to do it again soon!!!

A Visit Down South

I just realized it has been forever since I posted anything new so I thought I would get to it. Last weekend, we all loaded up and headed to South Mississippi to attend Scott Martin and Jamie Walker's wedding in Hattiesburg. Well, me being from Laurel gave us a free babysitter!! My parents are still there and just loved having Tri come home for the weekend. Tri has his own chair at the "beach" in the backyard. He tested the pool out but was not so sure about it. While tri was sun bathing in the backyard, we headed to Hattiesburg for the big party. It was great to see all of our friends that live far away and the ones that live close. Ryan and Elain flew down after their trip in Canada. It was wonderful to see my big brother and sister in law since I dont see them very often. Friday night was a blast. Jamie had the rehearsal dinner in the Southern Miss skybox that overlooked the stadium. Very nice!! After so great food and funny stories, everybody headed to the "Hog". Saturday Michaela, Candace, and I got a much needed mani and pedi to work off the headaches we had. The weather was beautiful so Elaine and I hit the poolside for a little while. After a few margaritas and some mexican food, off to the church we go. Jamie and Scott looked so happy. Beautiful wedding and great receptiona t the Train Depot downtown. On Sunday, my first Mother's Day, we ate with my parents and recooperated a little bit before hitting road back home. We had a great weekend and here are some pics from it.

Yes, my little man Tri turned 1 year old today. It is so hard to believe that he is having a birthday. It seems like yesterday that I was running to the hospital awaiting his arrival. We had a fun filled weekend. Tri was out of school on Friday so I stayed home with him so we could spend some time together. Tri and I slept in late, well about 8:30am, but hey I will take it. We got up, dressed, and off to Walmart and the Easter Bunny for pics. Tri was such trooper in Wal-Mart. He just sat in the basket and looked at everybody while I did some last minute shopping for the party. After Wally World we head to the mall to see the Easter Bunny. Tri was not impressed. He screamed the entire time and we barely got a decent shot of him with the bunny. You would think that the Easter Bunny would get a more friendly looking costume. After the bunny, Tri was done. Saturday--The Party. My parents drove in from Laurel and the party was at Jamie's sister JJ's house. All the family and kids came over for hot dogs and BBQ. The kids played so hard and when it was time to open gifts and eat cake, the birthday boy was headed to sleep. We had two cakes made; one for Tri to Destroy and one for the other kids. Tri was having nothing to do with smashing his hands or face in cake. As the party came to an end, the kids and the birthday boy were worn out. Probably some of the best naps of their lives were taken on Saturday. Tri got some wonderful gifts; Radio Flyer wagon with a cover, a motorized 3-wheeler, clothes, toys, and more toys. When we got home, Tri just wanted the boxes and paper to play with. It is so amazing that out of all the toys we have, that is what he plays with. A few weekends ago was Mandy's little girl Morgan's 2nd birthday. The party was at Aunt JJ's house. The kids had so much fun playing on the tramploine, swinging, and ridnig on the John Deer mule. Catching Up

While I sit in a doctors office waiting, I figured I would update everybody on Tri. Last night, Jamie, Nana, Papaw, and I went to Gino's for dinner. For people who don't know what Ginos is, it is a great 50's-60's style burger joint which has a jukebox that plays Elvis constantly. We were in some what of a hurry to get there so Tri did not get his regular spaghetti for dinner. Amazingly, Tri ate his first # 5 at Ginos (small burger and a few fries). Not very healthy I know but he absolutely loved his first taste of a cheeseburger. He ate almost all of it and enjoyed a sippy cup of apple juice and a few cheese puffs. It is very convenient now that he will eat almost anything in sight so we can broaden out dinner selections. After a bath and our regular screaming match while Mommy puts his clothes, we went down for the night. Tri's sleeping pattern has kind of gotten off track but last night he slept til about 3:00am, took a small bottle, then racked out again. He also has his top 4 teeth coming in and he is just becoming the cutest little boy. He is doing great at school. The teachers from the 1 year old room come and let him has snack time and lunch with the big kids. He gets to play on the playground and wear himself out. Tri is trying his hardest to walk and he is almost there. This makes me sad because he is just growing up so fast I want him to stay my little BABY boy. I know that he must grow up and he is doing great. Well that's all I have for now. I will post some new pics soon.

Off to Mimi's and Papa's House We Go

My parents drove up today to pick up Tri and take him to Laurel for a long weekend. They don't get to see him very much so I broke down and let him go. I know he is in excellent hands with his Mimi and Papa but it is hard coming home to a quiet house. In one way I think about all the things I can get done but on the other hand I miss him terribly. I MISS my sleep but so enjoy getting up with him and having that special moment, even if it is only a few minutes and he is back to sleep. Tri is growing up so fast and I don't want to miss a minute of it. WOW--a little serious moment. Any who, My mom called, said they made it safely home and Tri did great traveling--I was so worried he would scream the entire four hour trip. Of course, Mimi has a full agenda for the weekend. Tomorrow Tri is going down to the airport to see Papa's work friends and the off to the park with some of the other neighborhood grand babies. I am sure a trip to the Baby Gap will also be in the plans sometime before he comes home. My dad said the sales people at the Gap know my mom by name and greet her when she walks in the door she shops there so much. I hope my parents get some good quality time with the little man. Jamie and i will meet my parents on Sunday in Yazoo City to make the switch. Is it Sunday yet?

My Little Yankee

Growing up my brother and I watched the New York Yankees play baseball with my dad; who is a HUGE fan and in turn my brother and I became fans. For Christmas, birthdays, Father's Day's, my dad got a new Yankees or Ole Miss baseball cap because he had worn out the ones from the year before. Well, when I was pregnant with Tri, my mom's friend Mrs. Sandy went on a trip to New York and brought back a New York Yankees jump suit for Tri with his name on it. He is finally big enough to wear it and I took some pictures of him before school this morning. Watch out A-Rod, here come Tri Avis!!!

Hello Ms Miller

For Super Bowl weekend, Jamie, Tri, and I packed up and headed to Southaven to meet the newest addition to the Shurden clan, Ms. Miller Brooke. Friday night, the guys headed to downtown Memphis to see ACDC while Michaela, the babes, and I stayed at home and ordered take-out Italian!! On Saturday, Jared went to work and Michaela and I went for a much needed mani and pedi. Jamie kept Miller and Tri. Needless to say the #2 baby conversation came to a screaching halt after Jamie had Miller (5weeks) and Tri (10 mo) by himself for a few hours. He was a great sport!!! That night Michaela and I went to Burt and Rebekah's wedding party in Memphis and had a great time. Sunday was sad because Tri and Jamie went back home. I stayed behind because I was catching the 6:30am flight to Orlando for a meeting the next day. YUK!! Thanks Jared for taking me at 5:30 in the am. For the Super Bowl, we cooked a ton of food and some of Michaela's friends came over to watch the game. Oh how it was almost a perfect game until the Cards lost. Next year guys!!! Anyway, we had a wonderful time visiting and can't wait to do it again!!!

Routine??

Ever since Tri has been having ear problems, he has slept with us. It just seemed easier for us since Tri would wake up in the middle of the night wanting bottles and to cuddle. Now that we have cured the ears, its time for Tri to go back to his bed. Sunday night we did the "cry yourself to sleep" bit. At two o'clock in the morning is definitely not the time to start this because Tri cried from two til a little before five. It made me sick to my stomach listening to him cry and blabble momma and dada. Jamie had to assure me many times that he was fine, not hurting, just wanted his way. Stubborn? I wonder where that comes from. I called Jamie's sister Mandy for advice. She said she did it, made it through it, and Morgan sleeps all night with the exception of a few little whimpers every now and then. So maybe this routine will be successful and hopefully Tri will catch on so Daddy can get some rest while Mommy is in Orlando next week. Tri also has decided that he is too old for baby food and is ready to be a big boy. So now what do I do with all this baby food I have he won't eat? I also had to get some guidance on big people food for my little man. Mandy said put what you eat in the blender no matter what it was. Tacos, meatloaf, beef stew, hamburgers, EVERYTHING!! So, last night Tri had his first bowl of home made beef stew and boy did he love it. Nana and Papaw came over and were amazed at how much he ate. Oh, did I mention that we have a new front tooth!!! Now we have three!!!

Tri's surgery was a success!! We went to the hospital about 5:45am Wednesday morning and they took Tri to the operating room about 8:00am. Why they tell you to come so early and make a starving child wait is beyond me. By the time Jamie and I could get back to the waiting room and I could make Tri a bottle, Dr. Lambdin called and said the surgery was over and everything went as planned. ten minutes later, here comes little man with a somewhat of a smile on his face. I game him his bottle, down the hatch, and back to sleep Tri went. We waited for Dr. L to come discharge us and we headed home. Tri sleot the entire ride home and a good part of the afternoon. When he woke up from his nap, he was playful and running his blah blah mouth. I am very pleased with Dr. Lambdin so if anyone in the Delta needs a referral for an ENT, call Dr. Lambdin in Greenwood!!!

The Night Before...

Its the night before Tri's ear surgery and we are hanging out in Greenwood. Mrs. Vikki was so kind and cooked roast beef and potatoes for us. She also made this wonderful apple turnover dessert. Fabulous. We are back at our hotel just getting ready for our 6:00am trip to the Greenwood/Leflore Hospital. We met with Dr. Lambdin today to go over a few things and then off to the hospital to meet the nurses and staff and have some blood drawn. Dr. Lambdin said Tri cannot have anything to eat or drink after midnight tonight so not boble at 2:00am. Jamie is going to stuff Tri with baby food about 11:30 and hopefully Tri will be able to hold out til after the surgery. I told him we would stop at McDonald's and get some ice cream since he hhas been such a great sport. Thanks Uncle Sam and Aunt Kay for the McD's gift card!!! Well, off to sleep for our big day!!!

Big Week

We are going to have a very busy week. I took Tri to an Ear, Nose, and Throat doctor last week in Greenwood and he told me that we need to put tubes in Tri's ears. Tri has been fighting ear infections ever since he was born and has had many sleepless nights. Dr. Lambdin said that this will cure all his problems and make him a new baby!! We meet with Dr. Lambdin on Tuesday to go over the procedure and then to the hospital to meet with the anesthesiologist. We have to be back at the hospital at 6:00am on Wednesday morning. The procedure will take less than 10 minutes but the bad part will be the night before. Since Tri will go under local anestetic, he can not eat or drink anything after midnight. Well, Tri always wakes up around two o'clock every morinign wanting a full bottle. Jamie said we will just stuff him full about 11:30pm and hopefully that will tide him over until he gets out of the procedure. I know everything will be just fine but it is still scary when you have to take your baby to the hospital and put complete trust in people you barely know to make sure your child is safe. I have heard wonderful things about Dr. Lambdin and his staff so we should be good. Please keep us in your thoughts and I will let you know how everything goes.

Tri's First Christmas

We made it through our first Christmas with not a bow left on any of the presents but had a blast. Tri had a great time tearing into all his new toys. Christmas Eve was spent at Granny Becky's house with Aunt JJ, Uncle Jamie, Aunt Mandy, Uncle Dwayne, and all the children. After a wonderful feast, destruction began. Tri got a Sit and Spin, a play table, and tons of clothes. It was so much fun seeing him playing with all the kids and enjoying himself. After a little bit, it got a little overwhelming so we had some Mommy time by the tree. Christmas morning was just as chaotic. Starting at home with more presents then off to Papaw and Nana's house and more presents. After taking a long needed nap and a few days later, off to Laurel for Mimi and Papa's Christmas. Of course, it would not be a trip without trip covering my backseat with a little up chuck. After stopping in Yazoo City to do a little cleaning at Miss Belinda's house, we were back on the road. What a treat to have Uncle Ryan and Aunt Elaine home from Miami. Clothes, toys, and Teddy Ruxbin in hand, we played all day. Sadly, we had to come home on Sunday so Daddy could go to work. Tri has enjoyed all his new singing toys and Jamie and I have learned all the songs so we can sing along. Now that the holidays are over, we are getting back to our normal schedule thank goodness.

Oh Christmas Tree

On Decemeber 11th, Jamie and I ventured out to buy the perfect Christams tree for Tri's first Christmas. We normally buy them at St. Joe Catholic school so off we went. We pulled up and to our surprise NO TREES. Where did they all go? Its only the 2nd week in December. This is obsurd. So, off to Lowe's we go. They have trees but they were so small. I looked at Jamie and said "Are we that late getting a tree?" Off to Walmart we go. Their trees were aweful. Poor things were short and not full at all. Now I am getting upset. Where is my tree? Well after about an hour of looking for a tree, calling people and asking where a tree stand would be, we came home empty handed. Great thing for good old trusty. I bought a fake tree when we first moved in our house and it is just as beautiful as a real one!!! Tri and Jamie had a great time watching me put the ornaments on and making sure the tree looked just perfect!!!

Michaela says that I have to blog 6 things that are interesting about me so here I go.

1. I love to clean. Cleaning is how I release all the stress in my day. If I have a bad day, the vaccum becomes my best friend. Some people eat, some people drink, I clean. Jamie says its becasue I am so OCD about my house that the slightest dirt on the floor stresses me out so I clean constantly. I can't leave the house without all beds made, pillows straight on the couch, all dishes in the dishwasher, and NOTHING out of its place. Crazy I know.

2. I will not talk on the phone during Grey's Anatomy or E.R. Thursday nights are my TV night and I do not want to miss a single moment of my shows eventhough I am recording them on my DVR. I lay on the couch, with trusty blue (if you have known me for a long time, you will know what that is), and watch my shows. It is a ritual.

3. I want to go to culinary school. I just recently had this idea. I like to cook and wish I knew how to cook something else beside tacos and meatloaf. I want to learn to cook outside of the box. I watch cooking shows and try to imitate what they do; sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Santa Clause, aka my dad, is getting me a cooking class at the Alluvian for Christmas so maybe I can learn some new tricks!!

4. I want 3 children. All boys. Jamie wants twin girls--IS HE CRAZY??? Tri is so much fun and I want him to have siblings to play with and watch over. I love having a big brother who looked after me eventhough he did try to get me to stick my mothers car keys in an electrical socket when we were little. Oh the memories!!! Ryan I miss you so!!!

5. I love my job. Not many people can say that but I really do. I have great partners who keep me on my toes and tell me the best stories ever. I have met so many people through my job that I never would have met and made some great friends in the process. Plus, my job gives me a free car and free gas!!! Who could ask for more??!!

6. I love the beach. I mean who doesn't. I would love to retire at the beach but my hubby hates the beach. How did we pair up?? Anywho. Laying out, listening to the roar of the waves, and sipping on a sweet drink.. Thats heaven.

Halloween Pictures

Yes I know it is November but these pictures are just too cute to not post. As you can see, Tri was a pumpkin this year. His daycare did a parade of the classes and Tri's class led the way. These poor children were dressed up, looking SO cute in their outfits, and it was 80 degrees outside. They were troopers and the parade was a success. Inside, a Halloween party was brewing. Cookies, candy, and games for the children and some adults even joined in. We had a great time Trick or Treating that night at Aunt JJ's house. Aunt Mandy and Uncle Dwayne came with Maycie and Morgan to trick or treat with us. Sadly, I had to leave early because I was coming down with bronchitis--YUK!! But anywho, Jamie finished up the night and brought my tired little pumkpin home.

Its been 2 wonderful years since Jamie and I got married. It seems like forever ago I walked down the isle, which I tripped down b/c my dress was too long and my dad had to catch me, to meet Jamie and say our " I Do's". I have loved being married (legally--since everybody thought we were married since we had been together for so long). Then the new addition--TRI. Some people say "WOW--you got married and had a baby right off the bat?" Why yes I did and I thank God every day for him. I would not change a thing in the world for the life I have now. We have no big plans since we have a sick little man so take out and TV for tonight which is so okay with me. It is raining and gross so I would rather spend my night in my dry warm house with my hubby.

What a crazy week it has already been. I just returned home from a diabetes training class in Minneapolis, MN. Of course going north, you would think that it will be cold and one should appropriately pack. So I did. Well, the weather decided it was not ready to bring Old Man winter just yet. It was 75 during the day and in the mid 60's at night. I was dying in the heavy turtlenecks and sweaters. The class was very interesting. You never realize how a disease can run someone's life until you hear the words come from their mouths. Jamie, god love him, had Tri byhimself from Sunday til last night. Apparently everything went well because the house was not completely destroyed when I got home. Jamie is really getting the hang of Mommy being out of town and taking control. I am so glad to be home and to see my family!!!

First Words

Well, I believe that Tri has officially said his first word. I thought it was a little early for this since Tri is only six and a half months old but its true. We were laying on the floor last night playing with some toys that Mimi had brought from Laurel and Tri started to babble. Blah blah blah DADA!!! Jamie got so excited; "Did you hear that!!!!" Jamie made him say it over and over again. It was plain as day: DADA. What about MAMA??? I am sure it is soon to come. It was so sweet how Jamie just lit up when that word came out of his mouth. We have also cut our second tooth and looking forward to a few restful nights. Tri has a Halloween parade tomorrow at daycare and he is a pumpkin. Pics will follow!!!

Kadi Avis 1996-2008

We lost a beloved part of our family last night. Kadi, our black lab, lived a long, full, happy life til the age of 12. Kadi was a wonderful additon to our family and is now resting peacefully in the arms of our Lord. She was faithful, loving, and an all around great dog. Kadi enjoyed truck rides and swimming in any water she could find. We will miss her dearly. Rest in peace sweet Kadi. We love you

It was such a beautiful day yesterday we decided to try our swing out. The first time we did Tri did not like it at all. My how things have changed. Tri stayed in his swing for an hour and cried when I took him out. He really loves being outside which is a great sign for a future sports fanatic!!!

Our First Tooth!!!!

We have officially cut our first tooth!!! My mom and I were feeding Tri some supper and I noticed a little tip coming out of his gums. I screamed at my mom, "Tri's cutting his tooth!!!" She looked and confirmed that yes we have a tooth (she was a dental hygenist). Now, hopefully, the sleepless nights and fevers will go away. How exciting!!!

Well, Tri is doing much better since we started his antibiotic. He is starting to get back to his old self which I am very happy about. It is heartbreaking seeing your son so sick and you are just helpless. All we he wanted was to be held and rocked and by god that's what he got. We had a very busy weekend. Friday night Tri stayed with Papaw and Nana while Jamie and I attended a Halloween party at Frankie and Parkers house. A group of us went as the cast from Gilligan's Island. Jamie and I went as the Howell's, Courtney and Will Ayres went as the Ginger and professor, Burt and Rebecca went as Gilligan and Mary Ann, and Brian Phillips as the Skipper. It was quite a sight. We had a great time and some of the costumes were priceless. Papaw said that Tri didnt sleep very well Friday night but was up bright and early on Saturday to play. Jamie's mom, Granny Becky, came and picked up Tri to spend the night. Jamie and I went to the Washington School Gala at E.E. Bass. It was nice but we were so tired from Friday we really couldn't enjoy ourselves. Today we are jsut lying around the house being lazy. It feels great!!!!

Sinus Infections--UGH!!!!!

Well I was on my way home from work today and daycare called to tell me that Tri was running a 102 fever and needed to be picked up. The first thought in my mind was "How fast can I get to him in this monsoon I am driving in?" Needless to say I made it there without a hitch and took little man straight to the doctor. Dr. Gillespie said "Back so soon?" (Tri just got 6 month shots last week). Yes were are back.. Dr, Gillespie looked Tri over and said we have our second ear infection in two months and the way were are going, tubes will be very likely. I feel so sorry for my little man. He is soundly sleeping now but we will see what the night brings us.
